Where do the supplies come from and how can I donate?

Our chapter is very fortunate to have some very resourceful and generous volunteers. We are always on the hunt for fabric and yarn and ALWAYS need fleece. We are required to raise at least $500 per year to help with the cost of blanket making supplies and also to support the cost of running a non-profit at the National Level. 20% of all money raised at chapter level goes directly to the National Office. The other 80% we can use for our blanket making needs. All money spent comes out of our pocket and then we submit receipts for reimbursement, so everything is on the up and up.

We believe that there are so many kind people in our group that give their time and pour their love into their blanket donations, and we'd hate for it ever to be a financial strain for anyone who wants to contribute. Blanket making supplies can be very expensive and it’s our goal to provide as many supplies as we can for our blanketeers. This is not an ask for money but if you have the means and want to contribute to help those who can benefit from the supplies provided then we want to provide you with avenues to give.

Donating money is very easy and you can do that on the National Website with a credit card and even set up reoccurring donations if you want to. There is also a form if you want to mail a check or money order. Visit projectlinus.org and click on the donate link. Please designate our chapter -Metrolina, Pam Wenzinger. You can also give me your donation in person. With all of these types of donations our chapter will receive 80%

In kind donations are also accepted and very easy to do. This can be in the form of product- we ALWAYS need batting (Warm & Natural or similar), fleece 1 ½ yard or larger pieces and yarn in all colors (no wool). Bring your donations to meetings or order online and ship it to my house if you like. In kind donations can also be in the form of gift cards to places that sell blanket making supplies such as Walmart, Joann, Hobby Lobby etc. In kind donation receipts can be provided for your donation upon request.
